A. Information Collection

We need to collect information about you to

  • identify you and prevent access to your personal and financial information by unauthorized persons
  • provide you with products and services you have requested
  • help us design or improve our products and services
  • help us respond to your questions and inform you of new products and services
  • comply with laws and regulations which may apply to us

B. Accuracy

It is very important that the information we collect from our client is accurate, current, and complete. We make every effort to ensure that the information we collect is accurate. If any inaccuracies are found, we will correct the information in a timely manner.

 

C. Employee Access

 We educate our employees about the importance of customer privacy and confidentiality. We limit employee access to your information to those bank administrators with a business reason to know such information and take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.

 

D. Disclosure of Account Information

We normally disclose information you have provided or that we have obtained about your accounts and the transfers you make to third parties, agents, and affiliates, such as independent auditors, consultants or attorneys:

  • if you request or authorize it to
  • complete transactions initiated by you
  • to comply with a law, regulation, government agency or court orders or requests
  • to verify the existence and condition of your account for a third party, such as a credit bureau, another financial institution or merchant
  • to provide services relating to your account or to offer other products and services

 

E. Personal Data Protection Principles

Wilshire State Bank has adopted specific personal data protection principles which detail our institution's handling of personal information. The board of directors, management, and staff of Wilshire State Bank place a high priority on the confidentiality of customer information. It is our intent to protect information provided by you as our customer. The following statements of practices have been drafted, reviewed, discussed, and adopted by the board of directors. Each member of our management team has reviewed, discussed, and analyzed the implementation of these practices with respect to their areas of assigned responsibility. Further, staff and management have signed a statement of acknowledgment of these principles and pledge to uphold these standards in conducting their daily activities and working with customer information.

  • We will only use or disclose information about you that is consistent with your directions and expectations, or is in the public interest (general banking loan and/or account relationship(s) and your performance per agreed-upon terms and/or conditions)
  • We will ensure that information about you is accurate to the best of our capabilities when we collect or use it
  • We will keep information secure
  • Whenever possible, we will provide you with opportunities to see the personal information we hold for you, and furthermore, we will explain what we do with it and correct it if it is wrong
  • We will be open with you about what kinds of personal information we hold and what we do with it.

F. Protecting Information Online

How we handle Online applications and e-mail message is as follows:

  • When you apply online for accounts or services, or enroll in online banking, you provide personal information that is necessary for us to process your application. To ensure that your information remains confidential, the information is sent in a "secure session" established with Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
  • Regular Internet e-mail is not secure. In the instances where Wilshire State Bank Internet e-mail addresses are provided, these are provided for information inquiries of a non-sensitive and non-confidential nature.
    For secure online transmissions of information to us, you should use Contact Us Link. Inquiries sent through our Contact Us pages are secure and use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. Since an Internet e-mail response back to you would not be secure, we will not include confidential account information in an e-mail response.
