  • 1. What happens to my insurance coverage if I have deposits at Wilshire Bank and BankAsiana?
  •  Deposits from Wilshire Bank are separately insured from deposits at BankAsiana for at least six months after the merger. This grace period gives you, the depositor, the opportunity to restructure your accounts, if necessary.

    CDs from Wilshire Bank are separately insured until the earliest maturity date after the end of the six-month grace period. CDs that mature during the six-month period and are renewed for the same term and in the same dollar amount (either with or without accrued interest) continue to be separately insured until the first maturity date after the six-month period. If a CD matures during the six-month grace period and is renewed on any other basis, it would be separately insured only until the end of the six-month grace period.


    Things to expect before system conversion from October 2, 2013 to November 7, 2013

    • Will customers receive new debit cards?
    •  Yes, BankAsiana Personal and Business checking account holders will be issued a new Wilshire Bank VISA® debit card and PIN in the mail.

      Cards will arrive before November 1st and the PIN will follow separately. Customers can activate their Wilshire debit card upon receipt and will have the option to change the PIN at any Wilshire Bank ATM.


    • Can BankAsiana customers conduct transactions at Wilshire Bank branches?
    • Yes, BankAsiana customers will be able to deposit and withdraw from BankAsiana accounts at any of the Wilshire Bank branches in New York/New Jersey starting October 2, 2013.  


    • Can Wilshire Bank customers conduct transactions at BankAsiana branches?
    •  Yes, Wilshire Bank customers will be able to deposit and withdraw from Wilshire Bank accounts at any of the BankAsiana branches starting October 2, 2013.


    • What happens when BankAsiana customers want to open additional accounts with BankAsiana before system conversion?
    •  All new accounts will be booked to Wilshire Bank’s system starting October 2, 2013. 


    • When will the new Wilshire Bank account service charges begin?
    • Until the conversion, normal BankAisana account service charges will apply.  After the conversion, all Wilshire Bank account service charges will be effective. Please refer to the Product Change Summary.

    • When will the transition take place?
    • Beginning at the close of business on Friday, November 8, 2013 and ending on Monday, November 11, 2013.


    • Will account number(s) remain the same?
    •  No, account number(s) will change. Customers will receive separate notifications in regards to account information. Our complimentary package of new checks or deposit slips will be mailed prior to system conversion.


    • Will account products and features change?
    •  Yes, account products will convert to Wilshire Bank account products that most closely match their current features. Please review the Product Change Summary for more information.


    • What happens to checking and savings accounts with a BankAsiana service charge waiver code?
    •  Your Service charge waivers will remain under the new Wilshire Bank product equivalent.


    • What will happen to CD and IRA accounts?
    •  CD and IRA accounts will continue under its current term and rate. At maturity, the account will renew under the terms and condition listed in the Product Change Summary.


    • What will happen to BankAsiana checks that are presented after the conversion takes place?
    •  Any outstanding checks issued prior to November 8, 2013 and presented against the BankAsiana account will be honored through end of 2014.


    • How will the transition affect direct deposit and automatic payment information?
    •  Direct deposit and/or automatic payments will be processed to the new Wilshire Bank account for the first 30 days. However, in order to prevent any delays (up to one-day) in processing automatic deposits or payments, we recommend that customers contact the originator and provide them with the new account number and Wilshire Bank’s routing number: 1220-3825-1. This change should occur soon after Friday, November 8, 2013.


    • What will happen to ATM / Debit card?
    •   BankAsiana ATM/Debit cards cannot be used after Friday, November 08, 2013.


    • Will debit card transaction limits change?
    •  No, Wilshire Bank will retain your current BankAsiana personal and business Debit/ATM card limits.


    • Will BankAsiana ATM/Debit cardholder be charged for using Wilshire Bank ATMs?
    •  No, Between October 01, 2013 and November 08, 2013 surcharges will be waived.


    • What if a customer has scheduled recurring payments on their BankAsiana Debit (Visa Card)?
    •  Recurring payments will not transfer automatically to your new Wilshire Debit Card. In order to avoid any interruptions, you will need to re-establish payment arrangements with all merchants.
      You will need to provide your new Wilshire debit card number and expiration. This change should occur soon after Friday, November 8, 2013.


    • Will fees change?
    •  Yes, please refer to the Schedule of Fees and Charges.


    • Will statement cycles change?
    •  Yes, customers will receive a final closing statement from BankAsiana with transaction and interest earned through the close of business as of Friday, November 8, 2013. Thereafter, the account statement cycle will change as follows:

      Personal Checking Account:     20th of the Month
      Business Checking Account:     End of the Month
      Personal, Business Money Market Account:      End of the Month


    • Will Overdraft Protection services continue?
    • Yes, although Wilshire Bank does not offer an overdraft protection product, BankAsiana customers with overdraft protection can continue to use the service. 


    • Will Internet Banking login experience change?
    • Yes, beginning Monday, November 12, customers can access Wilshire Bank’s Internet Banking at

      • Personal/Business Internet Banking customers: Personal and business customers must self-enroll for internet banking which includes bill pay services. Please note you will need to recreate your bill pay merchant list.  Note: If you are having difficulty enrolling in Wilshire Bank’s Internet Banking service, please contact our Customer Care Center at (213) 427-2471
      • Remote Deposit Capture customers will receive their log-in information including User ID and temporary password by secure e-mail before November 12, 2013.
    • What transaction history will be available after the account has been converted?
    •  Activity occurring prior to November 8, 2013 will not be available on Wilshire Bank’s Internet Banking system. Customers may refer to their final BankAsiana account statement or contact a former BankAsiana branch for transaction details.


    • What will happen to Safe Deposit Boxes?
    •  Safe Deposit Box will continue to remain in their current location. For details regarding annual rental fees, please refer to the Schedule of Fees and Charges.


    • Where should customers send deposit (Bank by Mail)?
    •  After November 08, 2013, bank by mail transactions may be sent to any Wilshire Bank Branch.

    •  Yes, the toll free number is 866-886-2265. We provide a 24/7 automated phone service. To access the phone system, you must enter the last four digits of your social security number. The live service team in our Customer Care Center is available, Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. (EST)-8:00 p.m. (EST) and Saturday 11:00 a.m. (EST)-4:00 p.m. (EST).


    • Will my branch phone number change?
    •  No, all branch phone numbers will stay the same.


    • Will branch hours change?
    •  No, your current branch banking hours will remain the same.
